Chemical fire retardants

Chemical Fire retardants 9 06 2010 PBDEs, or polybrominated diphenyl ethers, are toxic chemicals used in the manufacturing industry to prevent or slow down the combustion of household products. Of the three common mixtures, only Decabromodiphenyl ether remains in common use. The most concerning use of these chemicals is in the manufacturing of baby clothing. Scientific studies have shown that the use of PBDEs have been linked to learning disorders in animals, as well as altered thyroid levels and possible birth defects. Another common chemical used to treat cotton is tetrakis hydromethyl phosphonium chloride, commonly referred to as Proban. There is also concern over the use of this, due to its possible link to genetic abnormalities, as well as liver, and nervous system abnormalities. These chemicals are especially concerning, when in contact with the porous skin of babies. Scientists have found that there has been a continues build up of these chemicals in the human body over the past 50 years. What’s more, recent studies have found that over 200 chemicals have been found in cord blood of newborn babies. Meanwhile, the occurrence of cancers, and neurological disorders continue to rise. The best way to avoid these chemicals is to use all Pure and natural organics. Particularly when it comes to babies and infants. Many parents have opted to use nothing but Organic baby clothing, on their infants. These natural cotton fibres have not been treated with chemical additives, bleaches or dyes, and will not allow for the absorption of toxic chemicals through your baby’s delicate skin.In a world of growing global markets, farmers and producers are facing increasing demand for larger product, and faster yields. Manufacturers require products that are better tasting, and have a longer shelf life. It is for this reason that farmers must use an array of chemical fertalizers, pestacides, and steriods, in order to stay competative in today’s market. Meanwhile, manufacturers, are using a steady supply of additives in order to enhance flavor and ensure the product stays fresh until it reaches the consumer. We at Pure and Natural Organics believe consumers should have a right to pure and natural product to maintain a healthy body, and to minimize our environmental footprint
